Reader: Tags, Taglines, Attracting me the reader

Think old time corner paperboy shouting out: Extra! Extra! Read all about it…Broken plans plus Vegas risks equal Tina’s Dreams.

That Tag is from my own short “Midnight Find.” Wrote it back in 2011 and would write it differently today. Something a little shorter, a little snappier.

Attention grabber.

Something that rolls easily and captures the mood of the story.

Something that plays like a theme song to me when I hear it and recognize it as your story. The more a person hears and sees an item the more they become inclined to purchase it.

There’s a rock band – glam? – that has its own: You Wanted The ____; You Got ___ ____. Fans will know who I mean. Non-fans may know as well just may disagree on the message.

The television show: The _____ is out there. Or, To go _____ __ ___ ___ ____ ______.

Could the tagline be the slogan of your book?

Why not? Works for this reader.
